The Range Rover is a four-wheel drive luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV) initially introduced as an upscale version of the Land Rover, starting with the Rover P4-based two-wheel-drive Road Rover project. It was in 1967 when the first Range Rover prototype was built, with the classic Range Rover shape. The first generation Range Rover, the Range Rover Classic was produced between 1970 and 1996. The second generation Range Rover, P38A, was introduced for in 1995. Although the Range Rover is produced by Land Rover which, although it is located in the United Kingdom, is now owned by Tata Motors of India.
